What is Vancouver Game Expo?
Vancouver Game Expo (VGX) is an annual fan expo celebrating game culture, from video games to tabletop, fan art to cosplay, game dev to gamer. VGX welcomes the world to Vancouver to connect through play. Find out more about the organizers here.
When and where does the event take place?

VGX 2026 will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre in East Exhibition Hall A on December 5 and 6.

Please note that Vancouver Convention Centre has two locations, and VGX is in the east location within Canada Place - less than a 5-minute walk from Waterfront Station.

Is VGX family-friendly?
Yes, Vancouver Game Expo welcomes guests of all ages. Special activities for children are also usually included. There may be games rated for mature audiences being exhibited, however, exhibitors are required to clearly indicate as such at their booths.
Who runs VGX?
Vancouver Game Expo is organized by a women-led team of volunteers from various parts of the game industry and community. These coordinators are passionate about building inclusive spaces for Metro Vancouver and beyond, as well as drawing more eyes to BC's game makers by elevating Vancouver as an exciting venue for game discovery and play. Passes & Registration
How do I get passes?
Passes are generally available for online purchase 2-3 months before the expo dates. Look for the Get Passes button on our website. Sign up to our newsletter or follow us on social media to get updates, including Early Bird discounts. You may also buy passes at the door, though prices are typically lower online.
How do I pick up my wristbands and pre-ordered merch?

Entry wristbands and pre-ordered merch will be available for pick-up at the Canada Place lobby during the following times:

  • Pre-registration hours on December 4, 2026 - skip registration on expo days and wear your merch to the event
  • During expo hours on December 5-6, 2026 - wristbands at registration and pre-ordered merch at the merch table

Please have your ticket QR code(s) ready when you arrive for pick-up or entry. Consider saving paper by using your mobile device instead of printing.

Is re-entry to the expo permitted?
Yes, expo re-entry is permitted as long as you are still wearing your wristband and capacity allows. New attendees may be prioritized if capacity reaches maximum.
Can I refund my pass?
Passes are non-refundable, however, we will have a ticket re-seller partner to assist with changes in plans - details coming soon.

How do I get to the expo?

Are food and drinks available at the expo?

Yes, food and drinks can be purchased at the bistro on the expo floor. Alternatively, Coal Harbour Café is available during breakfast and lunch hours and is located inside Canada Place just steps down the hall from the expo.

Is wifi available at the expo?
Free wifi is available in and near the Canada Place lobby and Coal Harbour Café just steps from the expo hall entrance. Please see Vancouver Convention Centre FAQ for more information.
Is VGX wheelchair-friendly?
Yes, Vancouver Game Expo partners with venues that accommodate a variety of accessibility needs, including wheelchair accessibility. Please visit Vancouver Convention Centre - Accessibility.
Guests
Can outside food be brought into the expo?
There will be food and drinks available for purchase on the expo floor provided by Vancouver Convention Centre. Vancouver Convention Centre does not permit any outside food or beverages on their premises (see Vancouver Convention Centre FAQ). Food and drinks purchased from Coal Harbour Café - located inside Canada Place - are permitted on the expo floor.
Is livestreaming or photography permitted at VGX?

Livestreaming is permitted in public expo spaces and strictly prohibited in all private spaces, such as restrooms and staff areas. We kindly ask that all attendees respect any expressed wishes not to be filmed by other guests.

Selfie sticks, stabilizers, gimbals, tripods, and other photography or filming equipment deemed by VGX to be disruptive or obtrusive to guests are not permitted on the expo floor except by VGX's official photography and filming partners.

A free guest photo booth will be available on the expo floor, which offers physical and digital prints for guests to take home.

How much does it cost to exhibit at VGX?

VGX also offers a limited number of free micro-booths within 10x20' showcase spaces for a curated selection of games that meet the criteria below:

  • VGX SELECTS - showcase of 6 to 8 stand-out upcoming games
  • VGX NEXT - showcase of 6 to 8 student games

VGX hosts the annual Vancouver Games Celebration digital showcase on Steam, which coincides with the expo as an online companion event. This is a curated event and free to participate in for approved applicants. Visit Steam Event to apply.

Exhibiting fees for standard 10x10' pipe-and-drape booth furnishings, electrical access provided by Vancouver Convention Centre, and other accommodations are subsidized by over 50% for game exhibitors, however exhibitors may opt to share a booth with another exhibitor and share costs. More exhibitor information will be provided upon application approval.

When is exhibitor move-in?
Move-in day for exhibitors is December 4, 2026. Please refer to our exhibitor application form at Get Involved for more information about exhibiting at VGX. Further information will be supplied upon application approval.
Can I order internet service or more power for my booth?
All additional services, including internet, electrical, and meal services, can be ordered directly through Vancouver Convention Centre - Online Ordering. Please see Vancouver Convention Centre - Exhibitor Services for more information, rules, and policies.
